Well, the night came and went and Tickled Ink was honored to be a part of the "Fox and the City" event at the fabulous Fox Theatre. Ann Roth of Ann Roth Shoes had her stunning shoes in the "Carrie Cabana" and presented a free pair of shoes to the winner of the shoe contest. Here are some photos of the event that my husband took.

Last Thursday Tickled Ink was asked to be a part of the Coca-Cola Film Festival's "Fox and The City" party which will take place tomorrow night (August 12th, 2010)! The event begins with a screening of "Sex and the City 2" which will start at 7:30pm. Then afterwards in the Egyptian Ballroom there will be a rockin' party with cabanas made for each character. Tickled Ink will have the "Charlotte Cabana" inspired by art. Check out some of my stationery that I painted for this event... more photos to come after the event takes place. I am getting excited!

Wedding Invitation for Fall

I am not good about posting what is going on as far as what designs I am creating daily, but I am trying my best lately :). This week I have finished some wedding invitations for the fall. The colors are a yellow orange and orange and it is for a garden wedding. This invitation is also designed & hand drawn by Tickled Ink. The reply card is a postcard which is cost effective by saving on reply envelopes, and also the stamps. The paper that Tickled Ink prints on is 110 lb soft and luxurious to the touch! If you want to save on money and be green, we offer 100% recycled paper.

Here is a custom design for a 60's theme engagement party that Tickled Ink created a while back. The bride's colors are purple and yellow, and it was a fun, laid back environment. Tickled Ink hand draws (either on the computer or painted) every custom design.

Yes, the time is here for weddings, and with weddings come lingerie (if the husband is lucky!). I wanted to share a lingerie shower custom design that was created for this summer. It is hand painted, flirty, and fun!

Baby Shower Paintings

Among other invitation and stationery orders this week, Tickled Ink also has an order for a baby shower painting. I love painting, as you can see in my work, and cannot wait to begin this project for my client. In the past, I have created baby shower paintings for an elephant, and this one is for a monkey. Contact for a quote- the larger sizes (20 x 24) run around $120, while the smaller sizes are less.

This week, among other orders, I am working on an order from my Winery Collection for a bride in Melbourne, Australia. Events & Networking!

Things have been busy and I have not been blogging every day and keeping up with it. Tickled Ink has been networking at events such as the Atlanta Magazine Wedding Reception, and had a booth set up at the Artmore Hotel and the Pottery Barn at Lenox Mall. Here are some photos of me and my display at the Pottery Barn taken by the talented photographer Michelle White. I met some wonderful people at the events and am always looking forward to future events!

Inspired at the National Stationery Show!

This year I went to the National Stationery show as a buyer to prepare for next year when Tickled Ink is an exhibitor in the show. It was a very exciting, overwhelming, and inspiring experience. There were so many talented invitation, paper, printing, and pattern designers, and businesses everywhere. I could not get enough! I left feeling very determined to make a mark next year when Tickled Ink is in the show. One of my favorite companies was Tree by Kerri Lee. I have two sister-in-laws that are pregnant, so I bought some of her adorable and unique baby gifts. I just could not help myself! I even bought some baby gifts for me when my husband and I decide to have children of our own (good to be prepared). Another group of women that I loved meeting and speaking to were the Ladies of Letterpress. It is a community of letterpress designers who all helped each other get to the show. I am now a member of this group! There were eight women who own their own letterpress shop that were part of this booth: May Day Studio, Hazel and Violet Ink, Pistachio Press, Paper Mill Designs, Thomas-Printer, Flywheel Press, Ink & Iron, and Dandy Lion Press. Each of these designers have their own unique style, and all of them were so beautiful! I look forward to being a part of this group and also working on my own designs this year for the National Stationery Show in 2011! Hurray!

Minted Baby Announcement Challenge!

Ahhhh, spring is here and it is time for the Minted "Here Comes Spring Birth Announcement Challenge"... perfect considering I have two nephews being born in August (and a lot of friends are having babies)! For some reason the first challenge was more difficult for me because I was over thinking everything. I absolutely love baby designs because you can be as sweet as you want to be, and I heart illustrating little animals. Plus, the photo of the baby always makes the invitation so much cuter! :) I had a lot of fun with this. Check out my new submissions:

Georgia Bridal Show

Sunday, March 14th Tickled Ink was in the Georgia Bridal Show and it was so much fun! My mom was a HUGE help setting up and talking to brides. I was so happy to have her there! We met tons of excited brides and vendors at the show. Some of whom were David's Bridal, The Knot, Sonny's Bar-B-Q (I kept sneaking over there to grab some delicious samples of their chicken salad- YUM!), and so many others! Joanne Richards, the Catering Sales manager at the Atlanta Marietta Hotel and Conference Center had a booth next to Tickled Ink, and she was delightful to talk to! The Atlanta Marietta Hotel and Conference Center has over 30,000 square feet of event space and it is a premier location- my mom and I were looking at the photos and talking about what a beautiful place it would be to get married. So, for all you Atlanta brides out there looking for a venue, please go to www.atlantamariettahilton.com and check it out. Not only would you have a fabulous person to help with your wedding event and catering (Joanne) but it is an amazing location! Also, I was very excited to see the Dorn Brothers, my two favorite pair of photographers (and talented brothers) around! They photographed one of my best friend's wedding in Hilton Head, and not only were her photographs gorgeous, they were a blast to work with. They had so much fun and they were a hit at the wedding! They even remembered me when I walked up to their booth. Shoe Party & paintings!

So, first I want to say congratulations to Ann Roth on a fabulous space warming shoe party last Thursday at the Paisley Umbrella. She has some gorgeous shoes and I have my eye on those Damask heels to purchase soon- they are absolutely stunning! I had a great time mingling and drinking champagne, and meeting some very talented and creative women. One of whom made the yummy macaroons, the owner of Crumb bakery, Sabrina Sexton, and also the extremely talented woman who made the beautiful cake from Couture Cakes, Lisa Humphreys. Her cake looked EXACTLY like one of Ann's heels (which are very detailed) with her shoe box with tissue- all edible. Watch out, "Cake Boss", Lisa Humphreys is here! Truly a piece of art, and it was delicious!

Last week I focused on painting stationery, which was so much fun since I love to paint! I was inspired by Ann's shoes (heels), and also did some baby boy stationery and some for a mom to be. I also painted some fashionable women with their dogs (one with a pug, one with a brown lab, and one with a little fluffy dog), and I painted two brides. They are all on my stationery and turned out great! Although I tried to take my own photos for my website, I wanted them to look fabulous, so I am working with my new friend, Monica B., who is a wedding photographer in Atlanta. She will be taking photos of my invitations and stationery at the Paisley Umbrella tomorrow. I am very excited to work with her!

Attached are some paintings that I have done for friends and also for my home. My next project is to paint some bridal paintings for my space at the Paisley Umbrella. If anyone has a painting they want, and like my style, please keep me in mind!

The next post will hopefully have some of the photos from Monica and of my space.... looking forward to that!

2010 is here!

Tickled Ink has moved into the Paisley Umbrella, and the website will be up and running soon. I have been designing like crazy, and updating my shop on Etsy. I met with my wonderful and VERY knowledgeable web developer/designer, Dave Wheeler, aka "high tech Dave" this week. He is nicknamed that for a good reason- although I am a graphic designer and artist, I am not a "technical" person. Which is why I stick to what I do best- design and make things look pretty! When hiring a web designer, I wanted him to put together exactly what I can design on screen, and make it live and user friendly. This man knows everything about what he does. I am very impressed and cannot wait until my site will be live for the public!

I am also taking photos of my work, here are some examples of some photos I have taken today. They look OK, but I am going to build a lightbox tomorrow and see if the lighting will be better.

Here is a peony in gray and yellow invite on linen paper- all invites can be letterpressed, too. And EVERYTHING can be custom designed.

This was a rehearsal dinner invite for a September beach wedding- it was a luau theme.

This client wanted a bridal shower that is similar to the bride's Kate Spade china pattern.

Tickled Ink is moving into the Paisley Umbrella!

Tickled Ink is so honored to be a part of the Paisley Umbrella, a boutique and showroom for the bride. I will display my invitations and stationery there, and will meet by appointment with brides. This way I can show my work, and discuss the bride's vision for her custom designed invitations, programs, logos, you name it- I will design it to fit the bride's taste and style of her wedding.
